This lovely book is packed with pictures of the real live horses who are the characters in Ms. Feld's fictional stories. She tells us their talents, likes, dislikes, and individual quirks that makes them each so special. Great to meet the stars of these books! Can't wait for more!

Many young horse fans have fallen in love with Ellen Feld's "Morgan Horse Series," a series that features Heather Richardson and the horses she loves. Perhaps the most famous of all the Morgans, is Blackjack, a horse who was selected by Breyer Animal Creations to become one of their model horses. The regal pose of Blackjack is offset when takes a nosedive into a bag of peppermints or ignores the camera as he rolls in the mud.
Blackjack, or Rum Brook Immortal Star as he is known in the American Morgan Horse Association registry, presents quite another picture when he's put through his paces at a horse show. You'll learn a bit about Blackjack, the "herd boss at Willow Bend Morgans," along with many of his stablemates. If you're a fan of the series you'll love the photographs of horses you've come to know and love in the series. You'll meet Frosty, Rusty, Robin, Annie, Rimfire, you'll also get a peek at some of the "sidekicks." Remember Rerun from "Annie The Mysterious Morgan Horse?" He's in here too!
This is a marvelous book that fans of the "Morgan Horse Series" will adore. The horses in the series are accompanied by a shot of the book they are featured in, their registered names (along with their parents), a brief vignette about them, and numerous photographs that give a bird's eye view into their "real" personalities. For example, you can almost tell that Annie is one of those gals who is going to love to talk to you just by the gleam in her eye. I've definitely enjoyed following this series for a long time and if you have, this is a definite must have to add to your collection!
